Readers of all ages are invited to dig into a summer of books, learning and fun with Summer Reading 2026: Unearth a Story™.
This year’s theme encourages participants to explore the hidden wonders of the world around them while discovering new adventures through reading. Whether you’re a young child just beginning your reading journey, a teen looking for your next favorite book, or an adult who loves getting lost in a great story, there’s a Summer Reading program designed for you.
Participation is completely free and includes reading and activity challenges that can be completed throughout the summer. As participants track their progress, they’ll earn rewards and be entered into drawings for larger prizes.
The program combines reading with hands-on activities, encouraging curiosity, creativity and lifelong learning while helping readers stay engaged during the summer months.
Summer Reading 2026 runs through August 1, giving participants plenty of time to complete challenges, earn rewards and uncover new stories along the way.
