Two local independent bookshops are teaming up for a special fall pop-up in Columbia. Black Tea Bookshop will be setting up inside Skylark Bookshop on Saturday, Sept. 26, giving readers a chance to browse books, meet the owner and support Columbia’s local book community.
Black Tea Bookshop is curated by Candace Hulsizer and focuses on celebrating Black life and literature through books and other works by Black authors and artists.

Black Tea Bookshop’s collection is centered around stories by Black authors and artists, with books selected to highlight the joy, experiences and resilience of Black life.
During the pop-up, shoppers can meet Hulsizer, learn more about the work behind Black Tea Bookshop and browse her curated selection in person.
A Collaboration Between Columbia Bookshops
The event is also a chance to celebrate Columbia’s independent bookselling community.
