What Is a Zine?
Zines are small, independently created publications that can be about almost anything. They might include drawings, writing, poetry, photography, comics, personal stories or a mix of different creative styles.
Part of the fun is that there isn’t one specific way a zine has to look. They can be handmade, folded, illustrated, collaged or designed around a particular topic or idea.
Spend an Evening Creating
During the workshop, Dr. Glaser will introduce participants to zine-making and give them an opportunity to create something of their own.
Supplies will be available at the event, but anyone who has favorite pens, markers, paper, images or other materials they’d like to use is welcome to bring them along.
The workshop begins at 6 p.m. on Oct. 21 at the University of Missouri’s Townsend Hall.
