Powerhouse Community Development Corporation is continuing a nearly three-decade Columbia tradition this Thanksgiving with its 29th annual food drive and food box distribution, carrying on the legacy of Ms. Almeta Crayton’s Everybody Eats program.
The Thanksgiving Food Donation Drive runs October 1 through November 16, 2026. Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Powerhouse Community Development, 601 Business Loop 70 W., Suite 204, Columbia.
Organizers are collecting Thanksgiving staples including turkey, ham, stuffing mix, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, gravy, cake mix and icing, sugar, flour, eggs, pineapple slices and instant potatoes.
Free Thanksgiving Food Box Distribution
The collected food will help provide Thanksgiving meals during a community food box distribution on:

⏰ 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
📍 Parkade Plaza, 601 Business Loop 70 W., Columbia
➡️ Distribution will take place on the east side of the building.
Volunteers and Community Partners Needed
Powerhouse is also looking for volunteers, sponsors and local partners to help with the effort. Businesses, churches, organizations, salons, barbershops, car dealerships and other community locations are invited to host food donation barrels.

Monetary donations are also being accepted through Powerhouse Community Development or can be mailed to 601 Business Loop 70 W., Suite 204, Columbia, MO 65203.
