April Scavenger Hunt in The District

This one turns a regular day downtown into a little adventure—with a reward at the end.

The April Scavenger Hunt: Shop Small, Win Big is happening all month long across The District in Columbia, leading up to the Spring Shop Hop on April 25.

Here’s the idea: participating businesses are hiding “Shop Local COMO” bags, and you’ll use riddles (posted throughout April) to track them down. Every time you find one, snap a photo and keep going.

To enter, you’ll need to find at least 12 out of 20 bags, then send your photos along with the business names to events@discoverthedistrict.com by May 4. Each photo counts as an extra entry, so the more you find, the better your chances.

Three winners will each receive a $50 gift card to District businesses, with the drawing happening in early May.

There’s no purchase required, which makes this an easy, low-pressure way to explore downtown, pop into new shops, and maybe discover a few places you haven’t checked out before.

If you like a little challenge (or just need an excuse to wander The District), this is a fun one to chip away at throughout the month.
