Step into a classic adventure as Let Your Light Shine Theatre presents Tom Sawyer for one day only on Friday, May 15. Performed by local community members of all ages, the play brings Mark Twain’s famous story to life with two performances at Missouri United Methodist Church in downtown Columbia.
Audiences can expect all the memorable moments from the beloved story, from Tom convincing friends to paint the fence to cave adventures with Becky Thatcher and encounters with Huck Finn, Muff Potter, and Injun Joe.
Organizers noted the production does include the murder of Doc Robinson and scenes of smoking as part of the original story.
Showtimes are 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. at MUMC, located at 204 S. 9th St. Tickets are available at the door for $7 per person and $3 for children 12 and younger. Cash or checks only. A modest reception will follow each performance.
