Free Native Plant Swap in Columbia (Includes Free Plants!)

Gardeners and plant lovers can add a few new Missouri natives to their yards at the CoMo Wild Yards Native Plant Swap.

The swap will be held Sunday, October 4, from noon–2 p.m. at the Bonnie View Park Shelter, 3300 Rollins Road.

Bring Missouri-native plants to trade with other local gardeners and discover something new for your own yard. Participants will also receive two FREE native plant plugs while supplies last.

A few things to know before you go:

  • Only plants native to Missouri can be swapped.
  • Cultivars and nativars are not allowed.
  • Plants should be labeled with their common or scientific name.
  • If you’re unsure whether your plant qualifies, send a photo to comowildyards@como.gov by 4 p.m. October 1.

It’s a fun way to trade plants, meet other local gardeners and add more pollinator- and wildlife-friendly plants to your yard without spending a fortune.
