Whiskey fans can spend an evening learning about Wild Turkey and sampling several whiskeys during an upcoming Whiskey University class at Hy-Vee on Nifong.
Whiskey University Course #305 will focus on Wild Turkey Brands, covering the Kentucky distillery’s history, production methods and the Russell family’s influence on the brand. The guided tasting includes nine different whiskey samples.

Nine Wild Turkey Whiskeys to Sample
The class will go beyond simply tasting the whiskey. Attendees will learn about Wild Turkey’s history in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, along with longtime Master Distiller Jimmy Russell, his son Eddie Russell and the family’s role in the distillery.
The nine scheduled samples are Wild Turkey 101 8-Year Bourbon, Wild Turkey Longbranch, Bond & Lillard Bourbon, Wild Turkey Rare Breed Rye, Russell’s Reserve 6-Year Rye, Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel Rye, Russell’s Reserve 10-Year Bourbon, Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon and Wild Turkey Gold Foil Edition.
Throughout the tasting, the class will compare bourbon and rye whiskeys, age statements, proof levels, barrel selections and different styles associated with Wild Turkey.
