Volunteer opportunity with Loaves and Fishes, a soup kitchen in Columbia, MO that provides free evening meals seven nights a week.
The Neighborhood College Ministry will host a Baked Potato Bar at Loaves & Fishes, a daily meal service for our food-insecure neighbors in Columbia.
Here’s how you can help:
1:00 p.m. @ MUMC
Join us at MUMC to prep baked potatoes and make chili. We’ll load everything onto the church bus and depart at 3:30 p.m. for the Ashley Street Center, where the meal is served.
3:45 p.m. @ Ashley Street Center
Could you help us get ready to serve? Tasks include brewing coffee, rolling silverware, setting up food tables, and making PB&Js for guests to take with them.
4:30–5:45 p.m. – Serve Meal to Guests
We’ll need volunteers to serve food, refill drinks, wash dishes, and keep the food stocked as needed.
5:45-6:30 p.m. – Post Meal Cleanup
Pitch in to clean the dining room, finish dishes, sweep, mop, and help us load up supplies to return to MUMC.
