Discover the artistry of fiber arts at the opening reception for In the Fold: Fiber Art Journals, a new exhibition at the Boone County History & Culture Center. Created by members of the Missouri Fiber Artists Association, the exhibit features handmade accordion-fold journals inspired by themes like growth, resilience, and personal reflection. Visitors can meet the artists, enjoy light refreshments, and explore works showcasing embroidery, weaving, appliqué, felting, mixed-media textiles, and other fiber art techniques.

Location: Boone County History & Culture Center, 3801 Ponderosa St., Columbia
Admission: Free and open to the public
The exhibition will be on display August 19 through October 10, 2026, with gallery hours Wednesday–Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the creativity and storytelling that can be woven into fiber art.
