A new locally owned barbershop is celebrating its arrival in Columbia’s Arcade District. Grooms Barbershop will host a grand opening celebration on Friday, October 23, giving the community a chance to see the new space and celebrate with owner and barber Sierra Nova.
The celebration will run from 5 to 8 p.m. at 1206 Eugenia Street, with an official ribbon cutting at 5 p.m. Guests can stop by for free food and drinks, live music and a look inside the new shop.
A New Barbershop in the Arcade District
Grooms Barbershop has been years in the making. Sierra shared that the new storefront comes after six years of barbering, more than 20,000 haircuts and eight years of dreaming about creating her own space.
Rather than designing Grooms as a place where customers simply get a haircut and leave, Sierra says she wanted to create a neighborhood barbershop where people feel comfortable hanging out, arriving early or even stopping in just to say hello.
Grand Opening Celebration
Visitors don’t have to be existing clients to attend. The celebration is open to longtime customers, friends and anyone who simply wants to check out one of the newest businesses in Columbia’s Arcade District.
