Missouri’s Free Fishing Days are back June 6–7, 2026!
Grab your fishing poles and head outside because anyone can fish in Missouri that weekend without needing a fishing permit, trout permit, or trout park daily tag thanks to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
Whether you’re teaching the kids how to cast for the first time or planning a relaxing day at the lake with friends, it’s the perfect excuse to enjoy Missouri’s incredible fishing spots. 🌊
Missouri is home to more than a million acres of surface water and over 200 fish species, making it one of the best places to fish in the Midwest. Just remember: regular fishing regulations and catch limits still apply, and some city, county, or private areas may still require special permits.
🎣 Free Fishing Days happen statewide on Saturday and Sunday following the first Monday in June every year.
