If you’re ready for that first real “summer is here” kind of day, this is a great one to circle.
Douglass Park Heritage Day is happening May 2 at 2 PM, and it’s basically the unofficial kickoff to summer at Douglass Park.
Expect a full afternoon of easy, family-friendly fun—balloons, face painting, lawn games for all ages, live music, and even free food. It’s the kind of event where you can show up, bring a chair, and just settle in while the kids run around and the music plays.
It’s free, open to all ages, and a simple way to spend time outside and enjoy one of Columbia’s neighborhood parks as the season gets going.
