Mahjong is getting a little more rhinestone, fringe and country flair this September! Mid Mo Mahjong is hosting a special “Playing 9 to 5” Open Play Mahjong Night inspired by Dolly Parton.
The event takes place Friday, Sept. 25, from 6:30–9 p.m. at Serendipity Polish Pottery & Gallery in Columbia.
Players are encouraged to embrace the theme and come dressed like Dolly. Think pink, rhinestones, fringe and, of course, big hair. Dolly Parton’s greatest hits will provide the soundtrack while guests play mahjong and spend the evening connecting with other local players.
Bring a Children’s Book and Give Back
There’s also a community-focused reason behind the Dolly theme. In recognition of Dolly Parton’s longtime commitment to childhood literacy, organizers are asking each participant to bring a new children’s book.
The collected books will be donated to a local organization.
