A night out in Columbia can be a lot of things, but it’s not every day you get one that mixes cake, cocktails, and a little friendly competition—all while celebrating the places that make the city feel like home.
If you’re looking for something a little different this spring, Cake & Cocktails 2026 is bringing together architecture, art, and community for one lively evening.
The event takes place on Tuesday, May 19 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at The Tiger Hotel, and it doubles as a celebration of National Historic Preservation Month along with CoMo Preservation’s fourth anniversary.
Hosted by CoMo Preservation, a volunteer-led group focused on protecting and celebrating local history, the evening is designed to feel social, interactive, and just the right amount of polished without being over the top.
Guests can expect a mix of light bites, cake, and an easygoing atmosphere that makes it simple to connect with others who care about Columbia’s character and charm. The ART-chitecture Contest Awardee Artwork will also be on display, adding a creative element that ties directly into the theme of preserving and reimagining local spaces.
And if you’re up for it, there’s a fun twist built into the night. The Brick & Mortar Trivia round brings a little competition into the mix, giving guests the chance to test their knowledge and maybe walk away with bragging rights.
There’s also an e-cash bar available, and the dress code leans business casual, so it’s easy to show up straight from work or make a full night of it.
Tickets are $50 through April 30, then increase to $65 starting May 1, and include cake, appetizers, access to the artwork display, and participation in trivia.
It’s one of those events that feels equal parts social and meaningful—something you can enjoy in the moment while also supporting the people working behind the scenes to keep Columbia’s history alive.
