The holiday season is approaching, and Columbia Parks and Recreation is asking the community to help make Christmas brighter for local children through its annual Toys for Columbia’s Youth Drive.
The program provides holiday toy assistance to children ages 12 and under whose families meet eligibility requirements. Community members can help by donating new, unwrapped toys or making a financial contribution through Friday, December 4.
Donations can be dropped off at two Columbia locations: the Activity and Recreation Center (ARC) at 1701 W. Ash Street or the Parks and Recreation office at 1 S. Seventh Street.
In addition to toys, the department accepts monetary donations by cash, check, or credit card. Donors will receive a letter acknowledging their contribution for tax purposes.
Families Can Apply for Christmas Toy Assistance
Columbia families who need help providing Christmas gifts for their children can also apply for assistance through the program.
To qualify, families must live within Columbia city limits, meet the program’s income requirements, and not already be receiving toy assistance from another agency.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, December 4, 2026.
