Columbia’s Juneteenth celebration is returning to Cosmo Park this summer with an afternoon focused on community, culture, education, and family fun. ❤️💛💚
The 3rd Annual Juneteenth celebration, hosted by Powerhouse Community Development, will take place Friday, June 19 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Burford Shelter in Cosmo Park.
The free community event will feature live cultural entertainment, educational activities, historical displays, games for multiple age groups, local resource agencies, and free food and drinks throughout the afternoon.
Organizers say the event is centered around “continuing the legacy of perseverance” while creating a welcoming space for families and the broader community to celebrate freedom, history, and culture together.
