Take a closer look at one of Columbia’s most charming neighborhoods during the upcoming Grasslands Neighborhood Tour on Saturday, May 30. 🌿🏡
This guided walking tour runs from 9:30–11:30 a.m. and explores the Grasslands neighborhood’s mix of historic and evolving home styles, from classic 1930s Cape Cod and Colonial-inspired homes to mid-century ranches and updated modern spaces. Guests will also learn how landscaping and gardens help shape the neighborhood’s unique character.
The tour is led by James Quinn, a retired University of Missouri Extension horticulture specialist with decades of experience in gardening and landscape education, alongside Patrick Earney, a structural engineer and historic preservation enthusiast.
Along the route, participants will view residential gardens and landscaping from sidewalks and streets while hearing discussions about curb appeal, preservation, renovations, and how neighborhoods evolve over time.
Tickets are $10 per person.
