Watch the Clydesdales Get Their Shoes
One of the biggest draws of the day will be the live farrier competition. The 2026 American Farriers Team will compete against an American Farriers Alumni Team, with Certified Journeyman Farriers creating handmade horseshoes to exact specifications.
Visitors will get an up-close look at the process while a narrator explains the techniques, challenges and craftsmanship involved in creating and fitting shoes for the horses.
Explore Warm Springs Ranch
There’s plenty to see outside of the competition, too. Stable stations and Q&A areas will be open from 9 a.m.–4 p.m., allowing guests to explore at their own pace throughout the day.
Visitors can meet mares and foals, learn about the ranch’s breeding program, see the pre-foaling and lab areas, visit Stallion and Hitch Row and check out the farrier station. The trucks and trailers used to transport the Budweiser Clydesdales around the country will also be on display.
Budweiser Clydesdale Ambassadors will be available to answer questions about the horses, the breeding program and life at Warm Springs Ranch.
See the Budweiser Clydesdales in Action
The afternoon will shift from the forge to the hitch, with demonstrations showing how the horses are prepared before heading out.
Guests can watch the hitch-braiding and hitching process before seeing a special demonstration featuring the East Coast Hitch. The day wraps up with a look at the unhitching process.
The hitch portion of the event is weather-dependent. Rain, thunder, lightning or other inclement weather could cause those activities to be modified or canceled.
A catered lunch is also included as part of the day’s activities.
