Old Plank Tavern is hosting its first-ever “Run for the Roses” Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 2, starting at 3 p.m. Expect mint juleps, live bluegrass, and a crowd that actually shows up dressed for the occasion—so it’s a good time to break out the hats and go all in.
There’s a hat and fascinator contest, prizes tied to the race, and live music from the Clayton Hicklin Band in the afternoon before the main event. The race itself kicks off at 6 p.m., so you’ve got time to settle in, grab a drink, and make a pick.
It’s one of those events where the vibe is just as important as the race—easygoing, a little dressed up, and built around a good time.
