Looking for fresh garden inspiration? The 2026 Edible Columbia Garden Tour offers a chance to explore some of Columbia’s most interesting urban food gardens while learning practical tips you can use at home.
Hosted by the Columbia Earth Day Coalition and community partners, this self-guided-style tour highlights sustainable gardening practices, native plants, food forests, soil-building techniques, and creative ways local gardeners are growing food in urban spaces. At each stop, attendees can enjoy a drink or dish made from ingredients growing right in the gardens they’ll be touring.
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just getting started, you’ll leave with new ideas for improving your own growing space.

Starting Location: Ann Street Garden, 802 N. Ann St., Columbia, MO
Suggested donation is $5–$20, and tickets are available through the Peace Nook.
Tour Stops
Stop 1: Ann Street Garden
Discover how multiple gardeners successfully share a community growing space while producing an impressive amount of food in compact garden plots.
Stop 2: Richardson Street Garden
A backyard oasis decades in the making. Learn about pollinator-friendly gardening, watering strategies, and how perennial plants can support both people and wildlife.
Stop 3: Greenwood Garden
Explore a developing food forest featuring soil-building techniques, organic matter management, vegetable production, and efforts to protect native and medicinal plants.
Stop 4: Surprise Garden Stop
The final location is still under wraps and may feature a food forest or another unique garden project.

- Each stop will feature a food or beverage made from plants growing in the gardens.
- Carpooling will be available.
- Gardens are located within 1–3 miles of downtown Columbia, making biking a practical option.
- RSVP is encouraged so organizers can plan food and drink quantities.
