The Columbia community is coming together for a meaningful cause on Saturday, October 17, 2026, as the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s returns to Stephens Lake Park.
Hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association, the event brings together families, friends, caregivers, and supporters to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support services, and research.
This year’s fundraising goal is $195,000, with more than $65,000 already raised. Every donation helps support the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission to end Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
One of the most meaningful parts of the event is the Promise Garden, where participants carry colorful flowers representing their personal connection to Alzheimer’s. The flowers honor those living with the disease, remember loved ones who have passed, recognize caregivers, and show support for the cause.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s Event Details
- Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026
- Location: Stephens Lake Park, 2001 E. Broadway, Columbia, MO
- Registration: 10 a.m.
- Opening Ceremony: 11 a.m.
- Walk Begins: 11:30 a.m.
- Cost: Free to register; donations and fundraising are encouraged.
Participants of all ages are welcome, and strollers are permitted. The walk takes place rain or shine unless severe weather requires cancellation.
Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to register in advance, as all walkers must complete an official registration and waiver. Those who raise at least $100 will qualify for an official Walk to End Alzheimer’s T-shirt.
