The Joshua Lococo (TJL) is a Columbia-based acoustic hard alt-rock duo featuring Joshua Lococo on guitar and vocals and Joey Jordon on drums. Their sound mixes alternative rock with indie and emo influences.
StoneCreek, from the Higbee area, brings together Southern rock, country, blues and heartland rock, with influences including Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers Band and Black Stone Cherry.
Flat Zero is an outlaw country band from small-town Missouri. Their sound combines country storytelling with a Southern rock edge and draws inspiration from artists such as Waylon Jennings, Cody Jinks and Whiskey Myers.
Lost in America is making the trip from Iowa with a mix of classic and modern rock and a focus on high-energy live performances.
Dusk N Dawn represents Columbia with a mix of classic, alternative and modern rock, while fellow Columbia band Backbone Road leans into Southern rock with country, classic rock and blues influences.
LifeLine comes from Moberly with a mix of classic rock, ’90s rock and modern hard rock.
Rounding out the eight competing bands is Columbia’s Half Pipe, which brings the gritty guitars, driving rhythms and alternative-rock feel of the ’90s to the stage.
Returning Champions Monsterya
There will also be a familiar name for anyone who has followed the competition in previous years. Monsterya returns as Battle of the Bands champions.
The Columbia rock band mixes alternative and hard rock with modern metal influences, combining heavier guitar riffs and driving rhythms with melodic elements.
The Crowd Gets a Vote
The audience will have a say in who comes out on top. Everyone who pays the $10 admission will receive one ticket to cast a vote for their favorite band.
Additional voting tickets can be purchased for $5 each or five for $20.
Along with the music, Watkins will have food available, Unlimited Pours will be set up as a vendor, and Highbread Bakery will also be on site.
The event is a chance to hear several local and regional bands in one place while supporting the musicians competing for this year’s Battle of the Bands title.
