Become an Archaeologist for the Afternoon
Archaeology Day is designed to make learning about the ancient world a little more interactive. Visitors can step into the role of an archaeologist while exploring how objects and other clues help tell the stories of past civilizations.
Activities highlighted for the afternoon include museum tours, “Broken Pieces,” “Big Clues” and “Artifacts in Color.”
The Museum of Art and Archaeology is also highlighting pieces from its collection ahead of the event, including a first-century Roman terracotta figurine of a gladiator.
It’s a good opportunity for families, students and anyone interested in history to experience archaeology beyond the pages of a textbook.
