If you like your weekends with a side of fried morels and cold beer, this one’s a staple.
The Brick District’s Morels & Microbrews Festival is back Saturday, May 2, bringing together breweries, food vendors, and live music for one of the most popular spring events in mid-Missouri.
Started in 2012, this year’s theme leans into a western vibe—so expect cowboy hats, bandanas, and a laid-back, “hang out all day” kind of atmosphere. On stage, you’ll get live music from local favorites The Kay Brothers and Mark and Sarah, keeping things going throughout the event.
The big draw is exactly what you think: fried and fresh morels, plus a lineup of breweries offering tastings. Just know this part ahead of time—beer tasting requires a ticket (21+), and it sells out every year. If that’s what you’re going for, don’t wait.
New this year, they’re offering a “Mush-vroom Fast Pass” that lets you skip the check-in line. It’s limited, so it’ll go quick.
If you’re not into beer tastings, you can still show up and enjoy plenty—food trucks, morels, and live music are open to the public with no ticket needed.
Rain or shine, it’s happening either way. Just plan ahead if beer is part of your game plan.
