Join the flock for the GreatBackyardBirdCount! It’s simple to take part, fun whether you’re flying solo or with friends, and you can do it anywhere birds show up—backyard, balcony, park, or porch swing to help scientists better understand and protect birds around the world.
How to participate:
Step 1: Pick your perch. Decide where you’ll watch birds. Anywhere you can see or hear them counts — no passport required.
Step 2: Take a little time. Watch for 15 minutes or more at least once during Feb. 13–16, 2026. Pour some coffee, settle in, and enjoy the show.
Step 3: Spot & share. Identify the birds you notice and share what you find using whichever tool fits you best. Learn more at birdcount.org/participate/.
